My friend Pete has written a good and thoughtful post about a Flickr photographer and social networking. Well worth taking a look.
So, Pete Doherty has asked Carl Barrat, the other half of the Libertines singer/songwriter team, to be his best man. And Carl has agreed. Hoorah, how lovely!
Could this rekindling of the friendship see the Libertines eventually get back together? Well I certainly hope so. It'd be Doherty who would stand to gain the most from such a reunion; whilst Doherty's Babyshambles have released uninspiring rubbish so far, Barrat's Dirty Pretty Things have released a great first album and are a brilliant live band.
I read about Conservipedia, the right-wing American altenative to Wikipedia, over the weekend. I've had a quick look today and must sat that, apart from its views on Wikipedia (that source of evil liberal corruption), it isn't quite as moronic as I was expecting/hoping it would be. Even its article on global warming isn't as foaming-at-the-mouth redneck as you might expect.
Conservipedia is still in its infancy, so we'll have to wait and see whether it becomes more right-wing or more balanced over time.
Seemingly everyone is talking about Saturday night's eclipse. Like every other photographer, I thought this would be a great photo opportunity. Unlike the more dedicated astrologers and photographers, I had however had about 3/4 of a bottle of wine plus a rather neat cocktail by 10.30pm, the time that the eclipse was occurring. I was more in awe of how cold and windy it was outside than I was of the eclipse. Having snapped a few shots, I ran back inside. Oops.
As a result, my photos (below) aren't exactly the best ones ever, but they're something alright. My friend Pete's eclipse photos are much better, well done Pete!
